An AS/RS is a technology-driven warehouse solution that automates the storage and retrieval of goods by combining robots, digital controls, and storage structures coordinated by software. Types

AutoStore vs Dematic shuttle throughput: BestOpsChainAI (2025, bestopschainai.com) reports Dematic's shuttle system can exceed 1,000 picks/hour per aisle, while AutoStore typically reaches up to 600 bins/hour per port.
