Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI)
A supply chain arrangement in which the supplier — not the retailer — holds responsibility for monitoring inventory levels at the retailer's location and triggering replenishment based on agreed min/max thresholds and shared demand data. The traditional buyer-initiated purchase order is eliminated; the vendor manages the in-stock position autonomously.
How it works
